‘SOCIETY CAROL SINGING TOURS OLD HARWICH’

17 members of the Harwich Society, accompanied by the piano accordion of Gordon Rudland, toured the pubs and restaurants of old Harwich on Thursday evening for the annual Harwich Society charity carol singing.
The event is organised by the Society’s Social Group and raised £250 for the Tendring District Stroke Services Dovercourt Branch before enjoying a celebratory glass of mulled wine at the home of the Social Group’s chairman, Anna Rendell-Knights.
The Harwich Society charity carol singing has become a familiar feature in the run up to Christmas and the participants are always amazed and gratified by the generosity of those enjoying an evening in Harwich’s pubs and restaurants.
Anna Rendell-Knights says “The Harwich Society’s charity carol singing has become part of Christmas in old Harwich and is a wonderfully atmospheric event. As always, the people of Harwich were incredibly supportive and generous and helped to raise a fantastic amount for an important local cause.”
